Radiation Protection and Training Courses
Australian Radiation Services Pty. Ltd. (ARS) provides radiation safety and awareness courses and seminars to suit the requirements of most organisations. The content of the courses vary from basic radiation awareness sessions to complex radiation safety officers' courses. Courses can be held at the ARS laboratory in Blackburn, Victoria, or can be presented at the client's site.
Course duration may vary from 4 hours for a basic radiation awareness course to several days depending on the complexity of material covered. Refresher courses are also available.
A radiation protection course typically comprises of theory sessions and demonstrations. References are also made to occupational situations, problems and regulations relevant to the participant's work. Some courses include practical 'hands-on' sessions where participants apply some of the techniques covered theoretically.
Each participant receives a training manual and handouts of the presentation. A course concludes with a test which assesses the participant's understanding to radiation protection. Participants passing the test are issued with a Certificate of Compliance.
